You have been seeing more and more people now starting to do carpools. Not only is it easy on your pockets but its good for the environment too. Even some companies have required people to join in a company carpool. There are a lot of benefits when it comes to carpooling. We can reduce our carbon footprint, take advantage of carpool lanes and save more on travel costs. Seeing how carpooling is a smarter option the only question that leaves us is how do you even start a carpool? Well you can’t have a carpool if you don’t have anyone in it. The best way to start is by go ask around to see if people want to join in. Alternatively you can also search on the internet, there are sites like Carpool.net that offers people being able to post and look for open carpools. There are sites dedicated to carpools so please don’t go posting on risky sites or other places that are also deemed risky. At Carpool.net you will have to provide your location, contact info, where you live and work and follow up information. Once you have found a group of people that is ready to be in your carpool you will have to sort out all of the details. You can’t just start driving off because you already have a group of people. What should first be done is a list of places and areas your group works and lives. This will help you organize a route. Use a map application to find out who lives the farthest, which one lives in a more congested area and so on. Many map apps includes estimated times depending on when do you departure, use this to help make a more efficient route. Have your group help you out as well, they can put in their input about the areas they live in work. Now that you have your new route organized it is tie tor determine who has the most priority. Remember that not all of your group have the same work schedule. Some might start earlier while others are able to start later. Its common sense that you wont drop of the person who starts at 8 am first if everyone else has to be in work at 7. Drop off the one who goes the earliest and then the one who starts the latest. Depending on their work schedule they might now start at the same time everyday and thats when taking turns comes in to play. For example the one that goes in the latest does the driving, is the nest day its another person then it will be their turn. In order for your carpool to work the lines of communication have to be open. If something were to change, you can notify your group immediately. You can follow the instructions but it wont work if no one can call each other. If your group communicates well then your carpool will surely be successful.
